Chers parents,
Aujourd'hui, notre école des violettes s'est mise au vert... pour la St Patrick ....
La légende ...

Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland.
He was born approximately in 380 in Britain, kidnapped when he was 16 years old by pirates, and sold as a slave in Ireland. He worked there for 6 years, and escaped to France where he became a priest.
At age 60, Patrick returned to Ireland to teach christianity to the Irish population. To do so, he used the shamrock (3 leaf clover) to explain the Holy Trinity. He is also said to have chased all snakes from Ireland. Patrick died on March 17, 461.
Today St Patrick's Day is celebrated around the world, but more specifically in Ireland of course, and in North America too. The lucky little Irish elf named “leprechaun”, and his pot of gold hidden at the end of the rainbow join the St Patrick Day parades and festivities.
Why do people wear green on St Patrick’s Day? It is the color of the Irish Catholics, the color of the Emerald Island (Ireland), the color of the shamrock and of the little leprechauns!
Happy St Patrick’s Day!! Remember to wear green, or risk being pinched by a leprechaun!!
